Inclusion as a Driver of ESG Success: Insights from the 2nd IEE Meeting of 2025

On February 20, 2025, e& hosted our second IEE meeting of the year. The session was all about Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) frameworks and how Diversity and Inclusion are core components for realizing goals and reflecting a company’s values to ensure a better future for everyone.

This session took a unique format, featuring guest speaker Rubeena Singh, a Senior Research Consultant at the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA). She highlighted both the financial benefits and challenges of embedding DEI in corporate governance, using case studies and best practices from around the world. Further details can be found in the report authored by Rubeena Singh titled: Putting the I in ESG: Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities as Strategic Advantage of Sustainability Practices for Corporates and  Investors

We concluded with a dynamic Q&A discussion with attendees representing both industry and education talking about practical ways to embed DEI into broader ESG policies. These discussions continue to strengthen the IEE knowledge base and drive meaningful change in how organizations approach inclusion.

Our collaboration with Rubeena Singh will continue with a series of workshops to the IEE members on ESG, ESG reporting and metrics. Please contact us at IEE@thebutterfly.ae for further information
